Six Checks Before Buying a Travel eSIM
Compatibility and activation timing matter as much as data allowance.

The essentials
Not every phone supports every travel eSIM. Apple requires an unlocked iPhone to use another carrier. First check whether your existing plan already includes destination roaming.
Put it into practice
Compare compatibility, covered countries, validity start, data allowance, voice and SMS, and extra charges. A seven-day plan is hard to compare until you know whether its clock starts at installation or first destination connection.
What to check
Save installation instructions before leaving. Choose your data line on arrival; keeping the home line active may incur roaming charges. Decide whether you need authentication texts as well as data, then review your primary line after returning.
